Thirteen House

Fostering interaction among all Thirteeners and providing a permanent, on-campus center of gravity for Thirteen Alumni
The fulfillment of longstanding dreams, Thirteen House-at 13 College Street, just off the corner of Main Street and College Street in Hamilton-will be dedicated at an open house on Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 3:00pm as part of our 60th Reunion.
Following our reunion, Thirteen House will operate as a privately supported B&B exclusively for Colgate Thirteen alumni "Crusties" and their families and for the parents of current undergraduate members of the Colgate Thirteen visiting Hamilton. Thirteen House is not an undergraduate resource, residence or rehearsal space in any sense (those already exist at Colgate!) Rather, it is a long overdue, classy home-away-from-home for Thirteeners returning to Colgate with their families and "crescentmates"for singing, spending time with the undergraduate group and generally enjoying the quiet and enrichment of the Hamilton and Colgate communities.
Purchased in 2000 by Robert "Boz" '85 and Jeanne Austrian, the house has been entirely reconstructed and expanded from the ground up, today featuring 5 bedrooms, laundry, family-style kitchen, great room and 3,500 square-feet of living space designed specifically for Thirteen alumni and our memorabilia. The central location-just a few hundred yards from the football stadium, field house, hockey rink, etc.-lends itself to weekends spent attending sporting events, heading up "the hill" to visit with professors, week-long vacations revisiting one's days at Colgate and even introducing your children (and grandchildren!) to Colgate. Don't forget that alumni and their families enjoy free access to all Colgate facilities.
Reservations for Thirteen House can be made up to one year in advance through our own Brenda Mason (315-841-8521 / 315-723-1830 / hbmason2@frontiernet.net) or Brenda's daughter Holly (315-691-3400), and are available on a first-come, first-served basis all year, with the exception of graduation and reunion weekends. At-cost overnight fees are intended purely to offset basic operating expenses. Advance and last-minute reservations are welcome and rooms can be reserved individually or the house can be reserved in full. Enjoy!
One final note: Thirteen House is a new private home constructed, furnished and maintained to high standards that would make anyone proud. To ensure the long-term success of Thirteen House please perpetuate and enforce the "appropriate use" of Thirteen House and respect its purpose and proper usage.
